Spring Solstice/Vernal Equinox (Ostara)- March 20, 2023
The Spring Solstice has also arrived! Now is the time to start planting new seeds and to create something new. It is time to step into the light, as the days will start to stay brighter even longer.
Here are some questions to help you brainstorm and get you working with the Spring Equinox energies:
- What do I feel inspired to create?
- What clutter should I get rid of so that I can clear and recharge my space?
- What baking or cooking would I like to do for this occasion?
- How can I get in touch with nature and start spending some more time outdoors?
- What new intentions and/or goals would I like to make for this Spring Solstice?
Some ways to Celebrate the Spring Solstice
Plant new Life- The vernal equinox is a great time to start planting your flowers and gardens. Even if you live in an area where you can’t plant much outside, you can get some indoor plants, air plants, or terrariums, and get creative with these.
Visit a Magalith- No megalithic stones or chambers where you are? Visit a site of some sort of ancient importance.
Have a Bonfire- There is always something primitive about fire, so having a bonfire is a great way to celebrate the Equinox. Celebrate the spring and feel the spirit of your ancestors.
Bring Spring Inside- Find signs of Spring and bring them indoors. See any flowers blooming? Cut a few and fill a vase.
Read about Spring- Now is the time to get out gardening books, plan your spring hikes and nature walks, and read up on foods to prepare for Spring.
Spring Cleaning- Cleaning and clearing your space is a great way to restore balance in the home or workplace and prepare for new beginnings.
Start Something New- The Equinox is about new beginnings, so it’s a great time of the year to let go of the old and begin fresh. It is a great time to make a commitment to yourself and start something new. Take a class or take up a new hobby.
